About Nightvision
The idea for Nightvision started in the early hours of a Sunday morning after the party had moved home from the clubs of Brisbane. While the alcohol was still flowing and the music pumping, Brett J and Zach Salar were trying to out-do each other by choosing early 90’s R&B and Hip-hop tunes. This isn’t unlike any other Sunday morning for these 2; the week prior it was 80’s pop & disco, the week before that was 2-step and UK Garage and before that the theme for the morning was old school funky house. One can say that the music every week was blissful and nostalgic; and though the music was diverse, the same question was asked every week: “Why can’t we hear this sort of stuff when we’re out?”

So right then and there, Brett and Zach decided to start running an event every month at Barsoma dedicated to a different genre of music each time. The first party was a raging success and inspired them to try and do more for the music scene. Ideas were being thrown around and one of them was to create a weekly podcast dedicated to pushing new music that isn’t pushed through the ARIA charts or the blogosphere. This idea evolved further to give local DJs a chance to showcase their talents to the masses allowing them to play the music they love rather than the style their restricted to when playing at a club.

The idea was discussed with a few artists and they all wanted to be a part of it. In an overwhelming manner, the idea had a warm welcome by some international artists that were going to tour down under.

So the planning and preparation for executing the idea started in early February 09. The appropriate licenses were acquired first followed by the completion of the website. The final thing left to do was the podcast itself.; so one evening, Zach and Brett filled up their glasses with vodka & lemonade and sat behind the microphone.

“Welcome to Nightvision Presents….”

And this is how it all started…
